Many people are aware of Archbishop Sheen's work of evangelization both on radio and television with his famous program Life is Worth Living. Msgr. Gray will speak about the reasons for his effectiveness, rooted in Sheen's personal holiness, integrity, courage, and insight into the Gospel. Sheen's holiness was fed by his devotion to the Eucharist and the Blessed Mother. At the same time, Sheen knew the anxieties of the modern world, making his message timeless and applicable as much to people today as to those who watched him on TV in the 1950s.
Msgr Jason Gray was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Peoria in 1997. He has been involved in the Cause of Archbishop Sheen since it was opened in 2002. As a canon lawyer, he has served as a pastor and Judicial Vicar. In 2011, he carried out the canonical investigation of the healing through the intercession of Archbisohp Sheen of a child who appeared stillborn at birth. He served in the Congregation of the Causes of Saints from 2012 to 2015. In 2022, he was named the executive director of the Archbishop Fulton Sheen Foundation and is working with the Bishop of Peoria to plan the upcoming Beatification.
